After being linked to the Eagles pre-draft (along with a few others) in 2009, Kane Lucas was picked up by Carlton as a first round draft pick. Initially he showed promise, but injuries caused him a lot of problems in his five years at the Blues, and the speedy midfielder was cut at the end of the 2014 season, at which point the Eagles threw him a lifeline in the rookie draft.
Constantly in the emergencies list, Lucas never managed to make his Eagles debut - eventually retiring after his 2016 season was cut down by injury. |
