Player Information |

A quality midfielder taken early in the first round of the 2005 draft, Ellis came to prominence early, playing a key part in Hawthorn's 2008 premiership team. Injuries however continually cruelled his time at the Hawks, with Ellis subsequently only playing one full season in 2010, culminating in only two appearances in the 2013 season, both as a substitute.
Ellis was a member of the Hawks losing Grand Final team in 2012, and brings a lot of finals experience, but the question will be how well his body holds out. Over his first couple of seasons at the Eagles he was available more than he had in years, and was a key part of the Eagles drive to finals footy in 2015.
Unfortunately for Ellis in 2016 his cruel injury run restarted, missing large slabs of the season, and playing only two games before electing to retire a few weeks short of the end of the season. |
