A local product from Swan Districts, Tony Notte joins the Eagles as the only tall taken in the 2007 draft. Like all the Eagles picks in this draft he is highly rated, but good skills are somewhat counterbalanced by his very light frame - it's clear he'll need to spend quite a bit of time bulking up before being ready to play at AFL level. Indeed, his selection to debut late in 2008 showed his unreadiness when he could not get into the game, and he should spend a lot more time at Swan Districts before he's ready to play senior football. The potential's there, the ability to put it into practice still needs to come. |
