Player Information |
|
Ben McKinley joined the Eagles as a player with a reputation for kicking goals in the Victorian under 18s, but struggled to find form and ability in his initial two year contract, only getting a single game in a match where the Eagles had only 26 fit players to select from.
Widely tipped to be the last man delisted, McKinley was given a one year contract to remain with the club for 2008, and he took the opportunity with both hands, re-finding the potential up forward that he had shown in his under 18 days, leading the Eagles goal kicking and winning the Rookie of the Year award. On the back of this turn around, he was a popular target of Victorian clubs to return home at the end of the season, but elected to remain an Eagle much to the delight of fans hoping this is merely the beginning. |
