Daniel McConnell was recruited as future potential, not immediate selection when picked up in the 2003 draft, and has spent much of his time since then in the seconds at East Perth. However he made it into the Royal's league team in 2004 and impressed with the quality of his development, proving to be a quality tall defender at WAFL level. While it is normal for big talls to require a few years development before moving on to AFL standard, McConnell would certainly be a chance to break into the West Coast team at some stage in the 2005 season, and hopefully can move on from there. |
