Nicoski broke into the team in 2004 off the rookie list, showing good early form. Playing mostly as a defender, by 2005 he was a key part of the West Coast team, including being part of the Grand Final team. However, in the middle of 2006 Nicoski's ongoing injury curse was in full swing, cutting him down and meaning he missed out on being part of the 2006 premiership side.
From 2007 to 2010, Nicoski's ability to get on the field was at best erratic, and his resulting form was dubious - never quite getting back to his form of 05/06. It wasn't until the 2011 season where he managed a full pre-season, and in a remarkable turn around was re-invented as a small forward, kicking 41 goals for the season to be third in the club's goalkicking for the year, and finally reaching his 100th game after nine seasons at the club.
Alas for Nicoski, 2011 was to prove to be his final season. After ripping his hamstring off the bone in the pre-season in 2012, a string of injuries prevented him from more than a couple of WAFL games in the 2012 and 2013 seasons, and he elected to retire from the game at the end of 2013 as probably one of the all time most injury prone West Coast players |
