A versatile tall, Brent Staker has been one of the club's best pick ups over the last couple of years. He has shown that he could be anything from a valuable key position tall to a Mitchell White-style damaging forward flanker. Staker is a little inconsistent on the field, some weeks playing like a veteran and others not so good, he is still very young and has much improvement to do.
Staker's consistency has seen him in and out of the team constantly over the years he has been at the club, including being out of the side for the 2006 Grand Final after playing nearly every other game for the season. For the most part it seems like he hasn't quite found his role in the team, but from time to time turns in performances that indicate there's still something there that could be quite special, if he can just gain that elusive ability to do it every week. Of course, with over 100 games under his belt, it's certainly getting to be time for that to happen. |
