Troy Wilson became a cult hero in his short time at the club. One of the oldest mature age draftees in recent times, at 29 Wilson started an AFL career as a full-forward alongside then Eagles spearhead Scott Cummings. Wilson however got more of a reputation for being a battering ram - and not being too picky about whether he hit friend or foe.
Eagles fans quickly came round to the big man, and he played a number of useful games during his short career. Too soon however age caught up with Willo and he was delisted after 37 games.
Mostly remembered for his demolishment of the Kangaroos veteran Mick Martyn in round 22, 2002, Wilson played a valuable stopgap role in his career |
