Frustration, pure and simple would have described Sampi's West Coast career; from the highs of his 2004 mark of the year to his failure to get even close to cracking the team in 2007. Sampi's talent is undoubtable - his application sadly has proven the opposite.
Ultimately Sampi will be rated as a disappointment due to his inability to convert ability to performance over his time at West Coast, almost perfectly summed up by his final day at the club where he elected not to do a fitness test required of him to be retained; you'd have to think that's a fair indicator it wouldn't have been a great success. |
