Chad Morrison was one of the shining lights in the Eagles midfield for a few years, chalking up 100 games in only five years until his knee went mid way through the 2001 season. Worse was to come when he did the knee again in pre-season for 2002, seeing another season go by. However in 2003 Morrison was able to take the field again, and while not being as consistant a contributor as he had been before the knees cut him down, was making a solid return to the team. However a string of injuries from mid-season cut his season off before he could run back into any form, and he must have a good 2004 to remain with the club long term.
There is no doubt that Morrison is a good player, however he will probably need to reinvent himself in 2004 (probably as a backman) to force his way back into the side. It was heartening to see him back on the field, but it is make or break soon for his career. |
