Player Information |

Daniel Kerr came runner up in the Rising Star award in his first season at the club, but his undoubted talent was probably a bit overshone in his early years by the duo of Chris Judd and Ben Cousins. Despite that, Kerr has made a name for himself as the hardest at the ball of any Eagle, and one of the most courageous and fearless Eagles of all time. Kerr is the player who lives at the bottom of the packs getting the ball, yet is still superb when he gets the ball anywhere else on the ground. His abilities showed through when he came runner-up to Cousins in the 2005 Brownlow Medal, and his efforts were recognised when he won the 2007 EFH Player of the Year Award and also gained selection in the All-Australian team.
After the departures of Judd and Cousins at the end of 2007, Kerr was left with the role of senior midfielder at the club, and the added pressure caused his football to fall away quite a bit - he was still a good player, but not the star of previous years. It took until the rise of a few youngsters in 2011/2012 for Kerr to finally get back to his best footy - and it was very good. Injuries though have played a part right through his career, and again in 2013 he was unable to play a major role as the club struggled, resulting in Kerr calling an end to his impressive career at the end of the season. |
