The Eagles' inaugural captain in 1987, Glendinning returned from the Kangaroos, where he played 190 games and won the 1984 Brownlow Medal, to WA at the end of 1986 to take up a spot on the first West Coast list, playing in the first Eagles game against Richmond, and captaining the side for the club's first two seasons.
Glendinning played mostly as a center half forward in 1987, before moving toward the goalsquare in 1988. He led the goalkicking in both seasons with 38 and 76 goals, before retiring after the loss to Melbourne in the 1988 Elimination Final. |
