Player Information |

Trent Carroll was the ultimate in AFL trier. A popular target of the section of the crowd that need a specific scapegoat to blame, Carroll was not the most skilful Eagle to ever play the game, but he was definitely one who gave his all whenever selected. Ultimately not and AFL grade player, Carroll did well to reach as many as 70 games at Fremantle and West Coast.
In the end, it really says it all about Trent Carroll that probably his finest single moment on the field - where he locked the ball up on his own in the closing minutes of a game decided by less than a goal (against the top line Brisbane team of the early 2000s) to deny the Lions victory did not even gain him a stat. Certainly there have been a lot of more naturally gifted footballers who haven't made as much of their abilities as Carroll did of his. |
