The last player from the 1994 Premiership team to remain at the Eagles, Banfield was also the only player to cross between the 1994 and 2006 flag winning teams.
The first really successful #1 draft pick in the league, Banfield was a very solid performer as a small defender throughout his career. It seemed that it might end early when a knee injury sidelined him in 2004, but he regained his spot in the team to be part of the Eagles finals campaigns in 2005 and 2006. Banfield retired after the win in the 2006 GF. |
