If I remember that collingwood game in 2016, there was no-one there. That's why it's at the docklands. The afl want Fitzroy fans to go to the match. Also beams might draw a crowd too.

I wonder how much no NicNat means eagles are now considered less entertaining.

So they fucked the team over, just to get a few extra bums on seats. Wow, yet another brilliant move.

35,000 is hardly no-one. In 2014 it was over 50k
Still more than they'll get to the Hawks game.
The only fans at the Brisbane game will be Collingwood's.
Besides, that's not the point. A top 8 team deserves more than 2 games there.
How the hell do Brisbane get the same number of games there as us? If they want Fiztroy fans to attend, why not move their scum game to the Brunswick st Cricket ground. There would still be empty seats.

The VFL obviously has renewed high-hopes for Hawthorn, they have gifted them a massive 11 games at the 'G. It's a sick fucking joke. Between their 3 different venues, they basically get 17 home games. Not to mention a stupendous MCG advantage.
Supposing the Eagles put forward a proposal (for the next season): We want to sell 4 home games (or 3 plus a derby) to Butt-Fuck Taswegia, play a couple of games at Subi, and STILL have 11 games at Packer Stadium. (where obviously we expect to host the GF, nomatter where we finish.)
Of course Collingwood still manages to beat that with 17 games in Melbourne.

But don't worry, they haven't forgotten their other favourite team. Geelong get a nice 5 games at the 'G. To go with their 7 at Kardinya, and 3 at Etihad. That's one cosy split. They'll retain their HGA at Kardinya, whilst playing enough games at the other two Melbourne venues to be nicely competitive.

Might as well give up the pretence and go back to calling it the VFL.

The Hawks have a contract with the AFL and Tasmania. They agree to play games in Tasmania on the basis that their home games are played at the MCG. Its been that way for years now. So no surprises with that one. Hey, we get 12 games at Subiaco next year - that's pretty good for a home side.

I dint realise Sydney have 8 Friday night games so it looks like 8 of my Friday nights have now free'd up between March and September.

Sydney & freo have to be one of the most boring teams to watch.

Not thrilled with the short turnarounds, but the Eagles only travel to Qld once and Sydney once, and don't have to go to either the NT or Tassie. Things could be a lot worse. Can't complain about playing GWS and the dogs twice - if they want to consider theirselves contenders, matches against other contenders are worth eight points, and they get two cracks at them.

Complaining about playing St Kilda twice because they're on the rise is a bit empty. There will always be teams on the rise (eg. Bulldogs) and in decline (Freo LOLz).

All said, a reasonable draw. Would be nice to never go to Hobart or Inceston ever again (unless playing a Tassie team), but that's possibly out of our control.
