Re: AFL Womens LeagueSo is the plan to have the AWFL run outside of the real AFL season?
Re: AFL Womens LeagueHeavily marketing push by the AFL supported by networks televising games and culminating in the glits and glamour of the awards night. And weren't the skills AWFL!
However strong or fast or skilled a knight is there are others who can match him. A man will win one tournament and fall quickly in the next. A slick spot on the grass may mean defeat, or what you had for supper the last night. A change in the wind may mean victory.

Re: AFL Womens League
Exactly what would you have expected when the league was still only a thought nine months ago, and the players can only afford to be semi-professional in the first season the league has existed? For a first season it was as good as you could expect. You have to give these things time. "I like to pay taxes. With them I buy civilisation" - Oliver Wendell Holmes

Re: AFL Womens LeagueI wish the ladies Afl skills level was as good as the ladies cricket. The ladies cricket skills are just awesome. As Matt said it will take time, it will get better as long women want to play footy.
Do or do not!
There is no try.
Re: AFL Womens LeagueYeah, gonna have to be patient with that one. If we assume that it is only very recently that significant numbers of girls will be picking up a footy from a young age, then it will be the best part of a decade before that wave hits AFLW age. Hopefully the AFL is patient enough to facilitate that.

Sounds like a pretty decent sponsership deal. I like that the club is going to try and own the entire womens magoos and use it as a development area. No point having any local girl wanting to play for the rabble. Particularly if they are as bad again this year. Hopefully they can poach all their good players and get Sabrina Frederick-Traub from Brisbane as well. 2011 Official Sponsor of the Father-son and the Jacob Brennan.
