Round 23: West Coast v AdelaideModerators: Mead, Streaker, Mr Q Round 23: West Coast v AdelaideOperation 'Get Kennedy the Coleman' is what this game is all about.
The best news is that we play last so we will know exactly what is required. 2017 sponsor of #6 - Elliot Yeo. 2017 B&F, 2017 EFH POTY.
Re: Round 23: West Coast v AdelaideJoe Daniher with only 1 goal tonight, so Kennedy goes in with a 4 goal lead too. If we leave this game without another coleman medalist it will be the biggest of disgraces.
Going to need results to go our way to be a chance at finals, and we should know by game time whether we can make it or not. Would be nice to get a win for the retiring players.
Re: Round 23: West Coast v AdelaideThink LeCras will come back in as a potential "farewell" game.
I think it will come down to, who does Adelaide want to play in the first week of the finals, Cats, Power, Swans or Tigers? We are the last game on the weekend so we will know if we can make the finals or not. If we do, we have to play one of the above away. Re: Round 23: West Coast v Adelaide
Assuming that Melbourne win against either Brisbane or the Pies (very likely at least one) the only chance we have is if Failmantle beat the Scum (away) and we beat Adelaide. Realistically we are about 7-8 goals behind Melbourne and the Scum in percentage so cannot pass them that way. 2017 sponsor of #6 - Elliot Yeo. 2017 B&F, 2017 EFH POTY.
Re: Round 23: West Coast v AdelaideOperation 'Fuck West Coast' is in full force.
Renounced. I'll be going back to St Kilda. 1987 Sponsor of Laurie Keene
Re: Round 23: West Coast v AdelaideIts very hard atm to see anything positive about this eagles team....never seen a side consistently fail when it comes to key moments...its like they do not win..so frustrating and I cannot see with this list where they are going to improve compared to other teams
Perhaps they are reflecting the mood of Western Australians atm which is not good Oh well last game at subi ...lets hope we put up a great performance to honour the past eagles teams The will to win...we have lost it.......maybe its coming back ??
eagles forever
Re: Round 23: West Coast v AdelaideEverything is pretty farked in Western Australia atm. the economy, income has gone backwards, sfa GST revenue, both WA teams mediocre.
OUT: Jetta, Hill IN: Lecras, Wellingham Bring lecras and wellingham in for farewell games. Hill has played his last game for the club. We would have to thump the crows to make enough percentage to nudge the scum. They are playing Brisbane...so the chances of west coast making finals are grimm. Bring on 2018, with a nic nat to paper crack our grand canyon size cracks.
Re: Round 23: West Coast v AdelaideDisappointing that I'll be away for work and unable to make it to this game. With the season dead we can realistically now make this a farewell game for some players whose best days are behind them, but whose best days were pretty damn impressive at the time.
Farewell also to Subi Oval, which I will now be happy to see the back of. Loads of memories of that place that date back further than the Eagles even existed, but I'm looking forward to a reboot at a comfortable, modern arena, with an injection of fresh fans.
Re: Round 23: West Coast v Adelaide
OUT - Jetta/Hill IN - LeCras/Rioli Now that is a winning combination. Make the switch now
Re: Round 23: West Coast v Adelaide
They are actually playing the Purple Muppets, but the premise is still correct. Scum are 1.8% (+39 points) up on us, so we need to win by about 7 goals more than they do. Or funnily, lose a close one and they get thrashed! So, 3 chances... we win, they lose. we win by 7 goals more than they do. we lose by 7 goals less than they do. Edit - there is the option 4. Dees lose and we win with an 8 goal swing for percentage. And yes, let's farewell a few, some who have been brilliant overall, some who have been solid contributors. And let's give Subiaco Oval (NOT Patterson's, Domain or whatever, SUBIACO) a big, sellout, loud goodbye. Last edited by MrWoollie on Mon Aug 21, 2017 2:38 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: Round 23: West Coast v AdelaideWatching the dokers right now and they are just shit. The scum will demolish them by 15 goals.

Hahahah pretty much.
Re: Round 23: West Coast v AdelaideReally looking forward to the last game of the year. Probably because it means no more weekly blog write-ups.
We have a lot to play for against the Crows. Most importantly, we must do what we need to for JK to get the Coleman. The last person to do the triple was Gary Ablett Snr in the 90s. Prior to that it was John Peck of the Hawks back in the 60s. Going back further still, only Coleman himself, Fred Fanning, Gordon Coventry and Dick Lee have achieved this feat. He is an elite player and arguably the best forward of the modern era. Hard to compare him and Buddy - they both bring something very different to the game. We will farewell a number of players. Priddis and Mitchell to start with. I'd like to see Priddis spend his game on the ball again, despite it not being in the best interests of our future. Two champions of the game who deserve to finish on a winning note. We also know a number of other players could also be pulling on a jumper for the last time. Lastly - our season may be riding on a big win, as unlikely as that scenario is. Let's say goodbye to Subi in style and on a positive note. Re: Round 23: West Coast v AdelaideI wonder if any west coast players wil announce their retirement before round 23?
