Murray Newman, Fraser McInnes, Ashton Hams, Brant Colledge, Adam Carter, Mark Hutchings, Brad Dick

And we traded pick #17 for Wellingham.

Hoo boy.

I blame Trinity for the 2011 stuff up. Newman, McInnes and Wellingham are all old boys? Something went horribly wrong with our scouting..

There are not too many good players that were available to us from pick 23. Only the following have had an impact:
Seb Ross (25)
Yeo (30)
Brad Hill (33)
Newnes (37)
Lachie Neale (58)

Given there was another 50 selections (not including rookie elevations and father/sons), that is not a great return for any club.

I mentioned those that have had an impact. Both of those you mentioned are pretty ordinary. Hamming is an accidental premiership player. Neither would get a game with us.

I'd like this guy as a rookie or even pick 69

I tend to agree. We need a young developing ruck and he looks the goods and a late pick.

Given that we already have Jake Waterman and Matthew Allen on our list do we really need to spend pick 13 on another young tall forward (Oscar Allen) when we need midfielders ?

Nope. We have a few 190cm forwards.

I would say, pick Oscar Allen if he is still available for our second pick 21 and pick best available speedy midfielder with our first pick.

He's now a possible top 10 pick.

True, he got an invite to attend draft night.

Pick 13 - Brayshaw OR Hunter Clarke OR Lochie O'Brien
Pick 21 - Tim Kelly (To Make Sure Geelong doesn't pick him at pick 22)
Pick 26 - Brayden Ainsworth OR best mid available
Pick 32 - Not Sure
Pick 37 - Liam Ryan Maybe?

I'm more interested in why everyone thinks Kelly over Schloithe. Only a year different in age, and for me when I saw Schloithe he looked a different player that Freo tried to ruin. Stats are similar if not better than Kelly. Goal kicking mid as well.

Liam Ryan, would just love to see him at AFL level. I did hear over the weekend there are some queries over his dedication to training etc, which has me worried.

With "small" forwards of LeCras, Rioli, Karmpany only one small forward should be looked at. If Ryan is available back end of 2nd round, or 4rd round, do we go for him?

I think we should definitely draft Liam Ryan, hopefully he'll be available at our late second round pick.

I think he will be there at pick 69.

O'Brien was interviewed by 12 clubs during the week – a couple even got him in for a second chat – but he's no clearer on where he will end up. He feels like West Coast has an interest; the Eagles asked for his parents to attend an interview with them in Melbourne over the weekend, while Carlton, Fremantle and North Melbourne have also spoken to him numerous times across the season. He seems most likely to be picked late in the first round or the second round.

He likes the idea of the Blues. He spent his NAB AFL Academy placement with the club on its training camp on the Gold Coast at the end of last year and already knows people there. But he is equally happy to move interstate – a point he has made clear to his managers, Robbie D'Orazio and Paul Connors, if they are asked by clubs how O'Brien would feel about that switch.

"I really like Carlton after my two weeks there and I've got a few really good friends there through the Vic Country program. I wouldn't mind going over to Perth. I really don't mind," he says.

Got a funny feeling this might be our pick 13. Getting the parents involved we must be seriously considering him.

Picking him wouldn't be a bad option at all, we need some outside run especially with Gaff becoming Free Agent.
Couple of inside mids like Ainsworth, Starcevich, kelly will be available for our second round picks.
