A direct result of what happens when you bring kids believing they are entitled to everything and shelter them from disappointment and failure.
I take slight umbridge to this, went straight from high school, to uni, worked part time, then did vac work after 3rd year up north. then straight into grad work, worked in a very backward 3rd world country for a few months working 28 days straight, 12-14hr days for a measley 10 days off (which ended up only being 7 days as travel time came out of R&R). I didnt blow my money and within 4 years saved up a 20% deposit to purchase a home that was 0.5-0.6M.
Now i'm nearing 30 and massively burned out, the mon-fri (sometimes sat) becomes a grind. A part of me wished i took a year or two off and went travelling...now its too late.
I do feel sorry for the grads that get promised the world at uni, then struggle to find grad work because there is an oversupply of young grads.
