Just recently I've been listening to the Yeah yeah yeahs. I don't know if they've released something recently, I don't think they have, but they're the band I'm mostly listening to right now. I'm also listening to the Pixies and, of course, Elliott Smith (see avatar) who is pretty much my hero. I could talk about music all day so I'll leave it there.

I'm pretty keen to learn what other people who frequent this site listen to, thus, the thread, obviously.

How dare you call yourself 'old' Nik. I don't know any of those artists.

Agree with you on the Pixies.

I have a random taste in music. Love all that indie crap (Arcade Fire, The Shins, Broken Social Scene etc etc) , as well as punk/hardcore stuff (Strike Anywhere, Armor For Sleep, mewithoutyou, Rise Against, Finch, Thursday etc etc etc), and alot inbetween (Brand New, Taking Back Sunday etc). I could rattle off a couple of hundred bands, but I won't... for now.

Also like a heap of local bands. Saw Halogen for the first time at Amplifier on Friday night. Very impressive.

Of those six, I own five (all except that metal mix). I've got all Foo Fighter albums except Self-Titled, all QOTSA, nearly all Greenday, and every single Led Zep album (most on vinyl). My collection encapsulates everything except RnB, and the bands I listed above were pretty much what I have listened to in the past 72 hours.

We're not that different, are we? ;)

I've been listening to a lot of "old school" punk recenty. Bad Religion, Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat etc. Mainly early-to-mid-80's American stuff.

I've also been listening to alot of Rise Against (getting very excited about Taste of Chaos now) and I've just got into The Mars Volta in a big way.

I don't mind Greenday, but I think some of there muic is pretty bad, they are a bit hit-and-miss, "When September Ends" is a miss unfortunately.
