Ive got Fyfe at 32 votes already, but have failed to amount the serious challenge from Priddis.

I only go trifectas these days.

I had an early 10 buck stab at Fyfe, Priddis , Armitage any order at Rd 8. And I'm still content with that.

Priddis could pinch it.

Hope he does

But Gaff and Shuey, masten and the odd other player might be pinching votes.
Hope fyfe ends up with 4 votes in total

Hard to see Fyfe not taking it home. I haven't watched much in the way of Freo games, but most of the talk is he is taking the 3 more often than someone else. Whereas I can see Priddis and Gaff splitting the 3's a lot.

Wouldn't mind a look at some of the exotics like Eagles as a team to be highest polling team.

Whilst on the odds, Eagles firmed into equal second favourites this week, tied with Freo. Glad I got on them a few weeks back at $11 (although I wished I had gotten on them even earlier  ) Not sure if they will go all the way, but Sportsbet allows cash out and at the moment I'm already double my investment 8)

Im not vested in this great game as i used to be. thinking i should start placing weekly $5 multibets just so i get into the game a bit more.

Im a betting dinosaur though. Any suggestions? I was thinking a multibet involving 4 teams a week, 2 certainties, 1 70/30, and 1 upset but i have a gut feel the team will cause an upset.

Myself personally... I like to do multis. There are always games where I am very confident in a win and then 1 game where I think it's a 50/50 even if the odds don't show it.

For instance.

Hawthorn win over Richmond $1.18 (50/50 game)
Geelong win over Brisbane $1.11
Collingwood win over Melb $1.31
Nth Melb over Carlton $1.15
West Coast over Gold Coast $1.10
Pt Adelaide over St Kilda $1.25
Fremantle over GWS $1.10

Odd's aren't fantastic on either of those... but put it in a 7leg multi and it's paying $3.20

You replace Hawthorn with Richmond who are paying $5 for a win and suddenly its a $13.68 multi.

You could effectively put 2 bets on
$50 on those 7 including Hawthorn and win $160
$50 on those 7 including Richmond and win $684

So for a $100 outlay.... you are making anything from $60 to $584 profit. Of course there are always upsets... so nothing is a guarantee in life  You can of course do the exact same thing with $5 as well.

I also like the exotics.. first goalscorer... most possessions/most goals. Last week I had $10 on Jack Darling to kick the 1st goal at $11. Jack didn't let me down... I won $110. I also had Masten/Darling in the most possessions/goals.... and whilst Darling got there Masten was the 3rd highest possession winner  That was paying $40!

I do a $5 accumulator every week, where you pick every game at the line.

$1.90 multi 9 times. At 320/1 or there abouts, its good fun. However, ive won 4 in 6 years, so they're rare, well for me anyway.

My betting career is officially over. Someone by the name of Patrick McGinnity... took my heart and broke it in 2... all those weeks ago against Hawthorn.

I had a 6 leg multi.... most of which were outsiders. 5 of the legs came in.... all I needed was West Coast to beat Hawthorn at Subi.

For the uninitiated... Sportsbet have this "cash out" available where if it at any point looks like your bet is going to win... Sportsbet will offer you a % of what you could win if you cash out earlier. The more likely it is you will win... the more they offer. Kind of like Deal or No Deal. It's to tempt you to take the certain cash on offer... and gives them a chance to not lose more.

This screenshot I took was the last offer they gave me prior to Pat McGinnity lining up for goals... 15m out dead in front. $665.71

I was waiting for Pat to drill it through the middle... and see this probably go up to $800. Instead he missed... I tried to cash out but when I refreshed they took away the ability to cash out. Sportsbet sensed it was a turning point too.... Hawks were straight up the other end... kicked a goal... and they then offered me less than $300.

F(#@ you Pat McGinnity. Not only is your shitty kicking going to cost you a premiership medallion... but it cost me over $1,000!!!!!

I haven't had a bet since :(

Put your money on Hawthorn to win the flag @ $3.70 or something stupid.

It'll serve 2 purposes, reverse psychology the shit out them, or cash in if they win.

Hilarious TP, I popped by betting cherry on last friday nights game. $20 on WCE to win by under 40pts, paying 2.75/1.

I found it staggering that by bank charged me a $2.50 fee to deposit money in my betting account via a CC. next time i'll be using direct deposit, eventhough this takes a few days to go through.

I believe banks treat putting money into any sort of gambling account as a cash advance - even online Lotto. It may be a legal requirement.

It's weird, have to hide fags in shops that legally sell them (disgusting habit, but still)
booze advertising has been severely curtailed,
yet its ok to fekkin BOMBARD us with gambling advertising.
Yet in all my years of auditing and forensic accounting, never once saw anybody gaoled or commit suicide after embezzling money to pay off a tobacco or alcohol debt. And whilst smoking commercial tobacco may be fiscal lunacy, never heard of anybody blowing their entire pay-packet in one night of smoking.

I got a $20 free bet from ladbrokes so i placed it on Norf to win by under 40 points 2.95/1

There was also a promo hawthorn $2/1 so i placed $19.

I'm always very cautious about outlaying large sums of money on gambling. I remember my first time at the casino, i worked a full day at my part time job, ended up blowing that days hard earned on black jack in 10mins. I have not laid a bet at the casino since, and that was 11 years ago.

My personal rule on the Casino (on the extremely rare event that I go in), is that I take in either $50 or $100, and that's the whole amount that I have to spend inside the Casino while I'm there. I take it out of my pocket before entering, and my wallet must remain there until I leave.

I also say that if at any point I've doubled my money (unlikely, but has happened), I walk out.

I'm with Dazz in that we need to do something about the proliferation of gambling advertising, particularly during sport. I was most offended by an ad I saw during the footy last weekend which implied that a true fan would lay a bet on their team. What idiocy.

I had a similar set of rules, but I had an alteration to the winnings. If I got to the point where I was up 100 I would put my float back into my wallet and only play using my winnings, if that went, so be it I'm done.

Worked out alright, had three trips where I came away with my float plus an extra 400, 300 and 200.
