That was the first time in a long time i was yelling and screaming at the tv cheering the boys on, yelling at the ump, groaning every turnover, yelling after every goal.

Playing port in week 1 is probably the best outcome for us.

Honestly I was expecting a WC win, a team with everything to play for will usually get the points over a team with nothing to play for. Jetta picked the right quarter to finally make a contribution. Am also impressed by Partington, this week and last it's noticeable that he runs out games better than most on the list and is frequently amongst it late in games.

I think they should play Nicnat against port, we are firmly in the nothing to lose category, and if he can manage 7-8 minutes of good ruckwork each quarter it might change things up enough for us to win and give him some match fitness to build on the following week. There's maybe a 5 or 10% chance he might swing the game but that is better than the alternative, which is losing the clearance by about 20 and almost certainly the game.

But two things arise out of that-

- if he plays in that backup ruckman spot, who misses, Vardy or Petrie?
- is there somewhere he can get a run this weekend to try and get some semblance of match fitness, even if it's the Gosnells seconds?

Let's hope he doesn't lose his spot because of "experience".

He was a bit quieter today.

That was one of the most enjoyable games to be at at Subi that I can remember. Absolutely brilliant, the crowd was as loud as I can remember, and the match was an absolute cracker (if you were an Eagles fan, I guess Crows fans were probably a bit meh about it, and Demons fans would have been crying). It's interesting to see a game where a win isn't enough and you've got everyone trying to calculate the required margin on their fingers all day - at least 29 points was always enough!

Yep...except we will win AND miss the 8.

Typical eagles....they have always found a way to let us supporters down.

What a game

Already looking forward to next year and watching Redden run out a full game.
That's two weeks in a row he has had massive first halves and looked like he battles a stitch in the second half.

Sheed has talent but lacks a tank!
Priddis looked to play solely midfield, its where he must play.
Mitchell was solid, serviceable and never shirked the 1%ers. he creates with his hand balling rather than dumping it to someone under pressure. Hopefully he can coach this onto the players.
Jetta's efforts without the ball were almost better than what he did with it. That chase of Cameron in the 4th Qtr no one else on our list stops that goal let alone manages to win the contest.
Sloane managed to slip the Hutchings tag after half time or was he moved off Sloane?
E-Mac was solid but wow they guy has no confidence in his short passing.

2 Weeks to get the big NicNat up and ready for a game.

I'd also have to question how Jetta's goal isn't in this week's GOTY nominations. Dodged two tacklers, and a very clever banana kick on the end of it - and under the pressure that the Eagles were at the time (needing that goal to put us back into finals). It was an absolute ripper - what we recruited Jetta for TBH.

(I guess they don't consider the circumstances as they don't show up on the video though)

Yeah...a bit of egg on my face there. It was right when cameron kicked that goal and i got that sickly feeling of here we go again.

Im glad they were able to go against the tide on this occasion.

Yeah, in those final moments none of us were worried about if we would win, it was all about if we won by the right amount.

It is lucky we didn't really run away with the game and hand out a thumping, it could have put us above the Bombers and a meeting with Sydney at the SCG.

Was interesting Petrie getting a few boos when he said he was retiring. Then cheers when he said he was staying in Perth. Has certainly won a few people over.

Looking at the stats of individual performance.

The three retiring players were in the top 12 players. And have been that way when we win.
We have one player currently out of our best 22. Nic Nat.
To my knowledge we dont really have anyone waiting in the wings that will provide output even close to this.

I would assume Redden would be given first look at the extractor / in and under role. Partington needs exposure to more midfield minutes as well.
We have no high draft picks heading our way.

Wellingham and Masten are getting touches in the 2's but id much rather have Gaff and Jetta playing those roles in the 1's. Therefore we trade these two for whatever we can get. GWS have the talent and with SJ on the way out may be interested in our "veterans".

Do we trade aggressive again or go back to the weel with the draft?

Rynney: The fix was in. With the Eagles needing a big win to play finals, they somehow wound up with two WA umpires on the field and a dual premiership player in the opposition coaching box. I will expand on all of this once I’ve finished watching 9/11 videos on YouTube... jet fuel can’t melt steel beams surely…

Finally watched the game last night. Loved the effort, where has it been all year? Like Jettas goal, Darlings mark and goal was superb too. Lecca actually did some hard stuff, great to see. Duggan the mustache has to go. :D Shuey, Gaff, Mitchell and Hurn were our best. Great to see we won by enough without relying on JK too much. How good is Matt Crouch. Great year for him.
Do or do not!
