JK is the only player who can hold the head up after this, win or loose. The only player who gives a shit.

Seeing Adam Simpson getting pumped and slapping the table in excitement because we might scramble a dreadful win against bottom 4 opposition is one of the simultaneously saddest and funniest things I've ever seen.

Mate, you're a shit coach of a disgraceful weak gutted team. The fact that you're excited about another dreadful performance is why this team is where it is.

Yea it wasn't a good look. Earlier in the game he was shaking his head exasperated at our performance.

Those sort of thinks look like you're over it...

Only 2 good things from that.

1. JK leads the Coleman
2. It didn't rain so I didn't get wet.

Tackles! Priddis has ten, then Redden on 6 and then Hurn and Darling on 3. Why aren't they tackling? If they drop Priddis we'll have no tacklers! So frustrating to watch. At least we won. Most of you don't have to work with annoying Carlton fans.

Edit; fixed auto-correct

Man, that wasn't so much papering over the cracks as papering over the Grand Canyon. Yikes!

From 1/2 way through the second quarter to 1 min left in the third, 2 inside 50s for 2 points. If Carlton had slotted a couple of those easy shots in the 2nd quarter...

What is it with this team? Look pretty good, get a decent lead, then 1/2 way through Q2 just switch off.

At home, against bottom 4 opposition who have struggled all year to score, a performance like that is just not good enough. Sorry, it just isn't.

Oh come on they won at least. Carlton have a good Ruckman and midfield. Should have almost beaten Scum laat week. Were not going far in the finals just enjoy the win. Please

I'm enjoying this round. 6 from 6 on my tips including my pre-game post yesterday -

bigbird wrote:I'm surprised Carlton are paying $5.75. While it will be wet, we are unlikely to see much rain. If it does come down during the game, they could be a sneaky chance.

You would expect us to cut them up at periods, but they play a solid defensive game and the wet conditions will play right into this and most likely put more pressure on our midfield group.

Could be a tough night for forwards, which will even up the game somewhat too.

All eyes will be on Priddis. Let's all try and enjoy him being out there rather than focusing on the things he is not doing like he was a couple of years ago. We're not going to see much more of him.

Eagles by 17pts.

I gave us way too much credit... I thought we'd be up by 3 goals at quarter time only due to bad Carlton kicking stopping them from hitting the front.

We are much worse than I thought and I thought we were bad.

<sarcasm>Also I absolutely love the gameplan where we guard space and let below average to excellent opposition teams tear us apart with field kicking and quick ball movement... it is so enjoyable to watch us get sliced open every week and pray and hope the opposition give it back to us with poor skills. Fucking top job Simmo! </sarcasm>

I mean even the crap bottom of the pile teams that haven't won in 2 months... know the way to beat the Eagles is to run the ball and get quick movement. It would be a disgrace if we finish in the finals... we will get massacred week one.

Watching that game, I don't agree with others that the team are weak and lazy. I am convinced in the most part that they are working hard and want to win. The last quarter was actually ok and a little like we used to play.

My thoughts are that the team lack confidence and are poorly coached. Listening to the short Hurn interview at HT, it seems that the tactic is to give up the midfield, recover the ball in the backline and go from there. This would explain why week-in week-out we get chopped to pieces in the midfield once teams take possession of the ball. We are a step off the other team, are slow and therefore spend the game chasing, missing tackles and looking like we are disinterested.

I have never really been a "sack the coach" man but in this case, I think that Simpson either needs to come up with a plan that suits our team (which has some pretty good players) or that he is sacked and someone else has a go.
