Rank our Midfield

Interested in seeing where people rank our midfield. Don't include players like Jetta or Gaff who hardly, if ever, are included in the midfield rotations.

Jetta and Gaff are both midfielders, I didn't realise to be a midfielder you had to play on the inside?

Anyway, our midfield is bottom 4 in the comp. If you rank them head to head with their counterparts every player would come off second best.

I'm not sure how you are rating venerable s so highly? What has he done to put himself up there? I get potential looks good but he's actually not done that much yet, even at EP, or am I missing something?

Yet you have no issue with Nelson being in there? So show me your list.

I like your list overall.
Venables is the only one that really jumped at me as being out of place which is why I asked the question.
I'm not saying you're wrong, I just haven't seen anything yet to rate him higher or lower than say karpany or partington.

Nelson has done enough at AFL level to convince me that he deserves to be rated highly.

Of thost who have played at AFL level:

Shuey
Yeo
Gaff
Mitchell
Priddis
Jetta
Sheed
Nelson
Duggan
Redden
Hutchings
Masten
Karpany
Mutimer

Gaff and shuey on the lower end of A grade.

Mitchell and priddis past their prime but servicable.

The rest either established pedestrian players or developing.

Either way its a weak group as a collective.

That's how I would have it based on the last few games. Jetta could arguably jump up another spot or two....it's hard to compare players in very different roles.

The question should be what teams have a worse engine room than West Coast?

Not subject matter but wondering why nobody, not even media, are talking about Viney's hit on Hurny? Will it not be looked at?
Just checked Wa media and they posted it but nothing in the Vic media.

Nothing in it, just a good hit within the rules.

Agree completely. We have to be objective here if shuey was a fine only then vineys hit was certainly no worse.

The diving ranga on the other hand should cop a fine for that pathetic performance after schofield "hit" him

I dont even think Viney collected him in the head, just Hurn didnt even see it coming. Was it a square up from what happened earlier, maybe but again the bump was within the rules.

Not sure I agree about within the rules. Viney left the ground and made heavy contact with Huirn's head. Viney sought the contact and at no time had eyes for the ball.

I do not really think that what he did should be rubbed out but it is the type of thing that gets looked at usually. In my opinion I t was certainly more deserving of a penalty than Shuey's bump on Dangerfield last week.
