So where to from here?

Obviously have to make room for Sam Mitchell but what role? Does he take over from Hickmott or take Coxys role and the rucks and stoppages?

Justin Longmuir and Dean Cox have been put on notice. http://www.watoday.com.au/sport/wa-spor ... y3zws.html

Cox, the Eagles games record-holder with 290, is out of contract at the end of the season and is believed to have been told his position will be reviewed in a full assessment of coaching staff after the season.

He has been assistant rucks and stoppages specialist coach since late into his retirement as a player in 2014 in Simpson's first year at the helm.

Cox is believed to want another two-year coaching deal to stay at his home club.

I'd be going all out to try and get Luke Hodge as the backs and Team Defence coach.

WEST Coast is set to appoint Nathan van Berlo as an assistant coach as it rebuilds Adam Simpson's off-field team.

Van Berlo has spent the past 12 months as a development coach with Adelaide, working with the club's younger players while also playing a role in the club's leadership program.

It is understood he will take on an assistant role with the Eagles, who have lost ruck and stoppages coach Dean Cox (Sydney) and senior assistant Justin Longmuir (Collingwood) this off-season.

Not from Hawthorn, North Melbourne or West Coast. No best mates in this one.

Is West Aussie though.

Not with any real experience as an midfield and stoppage either. An outstanding man but it would have been nice to see a really strong experienced assistant come to the team who might have had some answers.
