F@#K!

Duggan ruled out for year with PCL. They are wrapping him in cotton wool.

He was on crutches today. Never a good sign.

Hopefully it will be a "blessing in disguise." Instead of getting pissed off (at being made to play WAFL because "Punching Bag" won't sign a new contract) and leaving after 2 seasons, he'll have a nice rest, go home and visit family, and sign an extension early next year.

Not playing footy means he has more time to think about other things including home.

Walking laps at training and sitting in the grandstand watching everyone else train and play and wanting nothing more then to be out there is harder.

I still rekcon that being forced into the WAFL, knowing you deserve to be playing AFL, would be hardest.

WCE06 wrote:This issue is Duggan is a rare talent. That much is obvious. We were not benefiting the kid one iota playing him in the WAFL where the skills are a class below him. If he's fit, he plays AFL. And if it means dropping a protected species then so be it.

*I'm also nervous about talk of his PCL being season ending. I thought they were 4-8 week injuries? Who was it a few years ago who had a PCL for us, it never healed and ended up having the knee reconstructed?

I must admit my first reaction was WTF. But there are only 7 games left in the H&A season, so he will likely miss most of those. Hopefully he will be good to go for the finals (which of course WCE refuse to talk about.)

If it had happened to McGovern who is a critical player to the teams success, then he would be back before the finals, but an 18 year old player that will play a big part in the clubs future they will take every precaution.

I would rather they take their time and get him right, rather then rush him back not 150% healed like they have with Nic in the past and Selwood recently.

Agreed. No point damaging his future. Not to mention a young bloke coming off that sort of time off would be rather out of form anyways.

The PCL was excellent news, I feared an ACL and that would all but rule him out of 2016 when we will need him more.

In fairness, his influence on games was down and there were arguments for dropping him.

This way he is cherry ripe for pre season and next season, which is good planning by us.

Is is actually ruptured, torn apart, or just a bad sprain?

All they have said is "PCL injury".

Very pleasing he has signed for another couple of years. The kid is seriously good - his first season was eye catching.
That is Nelson and Duggan committed for the future....any news on Tom Lamb?
Injury cruelled his first season but I liked what I did see.
Cavka remains something of an unknown given his injury problems but the 2014 draft haul...dare I say it...may turn out to be one of the clubs best.

Gotta love Duggan. Signed until the end of 2018. He's going to be an absolute jet.

Really liking this kid's development.
In his 2nd year, only 17 games in (and many of those were as a sub last season), and on the comeback from injury. Still got a long way to go, but looking all class.

Agree still 19. Just needs to bloody kick straight on goal. His kick on goal reminds me of Fletcher.

He will probably sink one then become dead-eye dick.
