Possibly?

We cannot give up Karpany for Hartung. Hawks are keen to move Hartung on because they want pace in their midfield. Isn't that what we want? Hartung is not going to be any quicker with us than he is with Hawthorn.

I agree, I don't like it either. We need an A grade mid, not a depth player.

Rawlings on trade radio:
They also considered a move for dashing GWS defender Nathan Wilson, who wants to move home to WA, but felt they were well stocked in that area with Elliot Yeo, Liam Duggan, Jackson Nelson and Tom Cole all filling defensive roles.

Wilson is better in this role than all the guys mentioned here.

It would also release yeo to play in the middle.

Whilst he would be a better option than Duggan, Nelson and Cole, is it going to be worth trading him in for the upgrade he would offer? I personally don't think so. He would cost us more than our second round pick so it wouldn't be worth it. As it is, with the emergence of those other 3 guys they should be pushing Yeo into the middle if they continue developing.

GWS want a top 20 pick for him.

Apparently he has just brought a house in Cockburn not far from the Muppets HQ.

Nope.

They do have a couple of players that want to go home they can get picks off.

GWS will be wanting picks for their Academy players.

There is rumours flying about with the Pies trying to offload Aish now too.

He must have a personality like Ballantyne surely.

Yeah heard that.

Apparently they won't expect more than a 2nd rounder.

We don't need depth players or minor upgrades to positions we are strong in. Wilson is a good player but would be an relatively minor improvement whereas someone as talented in the middle would be a major upgrade.
Would I take him? Yes. For our 1st rounder? F*** NO.

Not interested in younger Mastens or any slow extractor mids that are surplus to other teams. We have enough of those and would rather get nothing than overpay for junk.

There are a whole bunch of names being thrown about, but most are not worth what they want or even what we have available to give.
One out there option. JK for Hogan. Melbourne get the best forward in the comp, but only for a couple of years. We get one of the best potential forwards for 5+ years.
2017 sponsor of #5 - Brad (Mr Reliable) Sheppard. 25yo, 100+ games and counting.
2017 sponsor of #6 - Elliot (how good could he be) Yeo. Only 23 and looking to hit 100 career games in 2017.
2017 sponsor of #23 - Lewis (we need this excitement) Jetta. 27yo and heading for 150 career games.
2017 sponsor of #30 - Jackson (he's too good to be only 21) Nelson. 21yo, pick #51 in 2014, a bonus pickup.

Other than Shache and Lever, there is very little on offer. Nobody is putting up quality mids for trade and nor are quality mids requesting trades. Rawlings suggested that the WCE won't be playing much of a part in the trade period.

In case you missed it. From the Age.
Michael Gleeson reported this morning that Travis Colyer could shape as the player to bring in an extra draft pick for Essendon and help them land their three trade targets – Jake Stringer, Adam Saad and Devon Smith.

Colyer, a quick West Australian, could be traded back home – West Coast are looking for an outside pace and run player who could go forward.

If (and we shouldn't) go up to our 3rd rounder for Ah Chee, what would we use for Colyer. He is 27 next year, so doesn't have a long career ahead, is only a middling player and the Scum want picks to land the good players they are after.

If we paid what he is worth (6th rounder), the Scum get nothing they can use for their targets and if we pay what they want then we end up with a shit sandwich and not much left for the draft.

Said it before and I'll say it again. We do not need a list full of middle class 26+ year old players on a declining slope who are getting the big dollar part of their careers under way. We get to pay the good coin and in return get the last gasp, declining output part of an AFL career.

Ah chee is an inside mid who can go forward from all reports.

He isnt the type of player we desperately require but if we can get him for a 4th round pick im all for that.

Jetta is the player we desperately require but he is either way to inconsistent, he has the wrong running patterns so players extracting the ball cant use him as an option or he is ok juat coasting.
